The Community Building Studio accelerates belonging and flourishing in Sweet Auburn and metro-Atlanta by providing strategic support for solutions that contribute to the flourishing of the neighborhood. Whether launching a collaborative project, starting or scaling a business, or exploring potential solutions to a neighborhood challenge, the Community Building Studio exists to support individuals and organizations in articulating their vision, understanding their community’s needs and opportunities, defining an action plan, and taking real steps towards their personal and professional growth.
To support reimagined solutions, the Community Building Studio offers a variety of services including:
Helps your team see the world holistically, think like a reconciler, and act to make a faithful, lasting impact in your community. This half-day workshop will help you align your purpose and activities in the pursuit of reconciliation and innovative, collaborative community building.
Learn to engage in innovative and effective community building like we do at REMERGE. After 20 years in the trenches and learning from great thinkers and practitioners around the world, we have assembled our strategies and theological imagination into The Reconciler’s Playbook. Integrating placemaking, design and systems thinking, and culture curation, we share with you our mindsets, methods and tools so you can foster change and increase lasting impact in your community.
Rather than “fix” the poor or pop in-and-out for a work project, we invite you into community to learn with and from those living on the margins. Immersion Experiences are intense crash courses in joining lives. Learn mindsets and practical skills for developing reciprocal relationships and engaging in the practical work of reconciliation. This experiential learning opportunity will also guide you in developing an action plan for transforming your own community.
We offer walking tours of Sweet Auburn with a specific emphasis on the history of the neighborhood, the effects of built infrastructure on culture and community, and a perspective towards reconciliation. This tour is targeted towards organizations, entities, or groups seeking to engage in the neighborhood. The tour can be customized according to your organization’s specific interest and time constraints / physical capacity. We recommend allocating 90 minutes and wearing comfortable walking shoes!
