Course Description:

How do we design solutions with collaborators that bring transformative change? In this course, you will learn the mindsets, processes, and tools that will help you lead the change your community seeks. By applying these skills alongside your team’s creativity, you’ll be able to exegete communities and reimagine what could be when neighbors rally together around shared purpose. This course is not theoretical, you will execute and test your learning by working on a real problem, in a real community, to create a real solution.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • The course cost when taking it for credit is $2,500. This includes 3-hours of credit at Anderson University, food, housing, local transportation, and a $400 stipend for transportation to Atlanta. 
  • The cost for students who do not desire to receive course credit is $2,000. 
  • After registration you will receive a short reading list to complete before the course. 
  • You and your colleagues will travel to Atlanta where Remerge will welcome you and get you settled in.  
  • We will spend ten days exploring a theology of reconciliation, human-centered design, Sweet Auburn, and Atlanta as we will develop programs and interventions to address real problems that our neighborhood is looking to overcome.
  • At the conclusion of your stay in Atlanta you and your team will pitch your solution to local stakeholders. 
  • Upon your return home, you will write a final paper that explains how what you have learned translates to your own neighborhood.  
  • Students taking the course for credit will pay tuition and fees totaling $2,500 to Anderson University. This tuition is eligible for financial aid. 
  • Students not taking the course for credit will pay $2,000 directly to Remerge. You will be directed to the payment site at the conclusion of the application process.
  • There is a non-refundable deposit of $250 to complete registration. 

Remerge partners with Anderson University to provide academic credit for the Designing Community Solutions course. AU is a private liberal arts university offering more than 60 undergraduate majors as well as graduate programs in business, music, and theology.

  1. After completing Remerge’s application, we will direct you to Anderson University’s application. 
  2. Once you are registered with Anderson University, you are ready to earn 3 academic credits.
  3. Upon completion of the course, Anderson University will provide your transcript to your home university.

You will need to coordinate with your registrar’s office and Anderson University to complete the transfer. We recommend you consult with your registrar’s office prior to applying. Please contact Remerge with any questions and we will do our best to assist you.

  • We will send you $400 by check or transfer. 
  • You will organize your own transportation to Atlanta, GA. If you drive, we will give you the address of where you are staying. If you fly, we will give you directions for taking MARTA and arrange to pick you up at a MARTA station and get you to your accommodation. 
  • You will be staying in an Airbnb in or near Sweet Auburn with your classmates. 
  • You will be a pedestrian and use public transportation.
